The Forest Lake Reconstruction Project is substantially completed and will now begin one-year maintenance.

August 9, 2019

Most sealing and minor repairs have been completed as part of the punch-list. Contractors are repairing panels of concrete on Lakeridge Drive and Treasure Hill and will be attending to additional punch-list items as well as widening the drainage flumes on Forest Lake Drive east of the railroad tracks.

June 12, 2019

The Contractor is continuing to complete right-of-way work. Construction crews are also attending to a punch-list of items in previously completed sections of Forest Lake that will need to be addressed before completion.

April 1, 2019

All road reconstruction throughout the project is now complete.  Construction crews will be completing driveway work and right-of-way work to complete this project.

February 15, 2019

Due to weather delays over the winter, the concrete pours for Ridge Crest were delayed.  Most of Ridge Crest has been reconstructed.  The crews will finish driveways and drainage after the remaining portion is complete.

November 29, 2018

The Contractor has finished both sides of Ridge Crest Drive, up to the cul-de-sac.  Crews will begin working on driveways, as weather allows.

October 29, 2018

Construction crews have completed the East Bound concrete work and driveways on Ridge Crest Drive up to the cul-de-sac.  Crews have begun digging out the West Bound lane today. Once the West Bound lane and the driveways are poured, the contractor will begin on the Ridge Crest Drive cul-de-sac.

October 22, 2018

All concrete pavement work has been completed on Forest Lake Drive and it is now open.  The completion of the railroad crossing also allowed for the Quiet Zone renewal for both the Forest Lake Drive and Lakeridge Drive crossings.

With the exception of driveways, the contractor has given a rough estimate of November 2nd, 2018 for the completion of concrete paving on Ridge Crest Drive.  Once this is completed, all focus will be directed to driveways, sodding/backfill, and other areas still pending completion.

September 5, 2018

Forest Lake Drive has been completed from the Western side of the Railroad tracks. On the Eastern side of the tracks, the Westbound lane has been completed up to highway 71 and is awaiting tie-in. The Eastbound lane has been completed up to the westernmost driveway of Red River Lumber. Forest Lake Drive is still closed to traffic, however it is expected to be open in 3 weeks, weather permitting.

Crews have also begun excavation on Ridgecrest.  The work here is expected to be completed by the end of October.

August 15, 2018

All sections West of the Railroad tracks on Forest Lake Drive are complete.  On the East side of the tracks, the Eastbound lane has been completed up to the Red River Lumber driveway.  Crews are continuing work on the Westbound lane to N State Line.  Access to the neighborhood is still detoured through the Lakeridge entrance.

June 29, 2018

Contractors are closing the section of Forest Lake Drive near the Kansas City Southern Railroad crossing in the Forest Lake subdivision on Thursday, June 28, 2018. The section of road will be completely closed to traffic. The work is estimated to take eight weeks before the road is reopened.

The Federal Railroad Administration has mandated that trains will have to blow their horns in the area until road work is completed, temporarily eliminating the Forest Lake and Lake Ridge Quiet Zones established in the area. Once the work on this section is completed, the Quiet Zones will be reinstituted.

Forest Lake Drive West of the Rail Road (RR) tracks is nearly complete.  Crews are working on the last section here and also installing sod along the Right of Way (ROW) Forest Lake.  Crews have also completed a section East of the RR on the South side.  Crews are working to complete the intersection at Farmers Lane and finish up the remaining portion of Forest Lake East of the RR.

June 7, 2018

Contractors are working on the completion of sod installation and landscaping on the side streets off Forest Lake Drive.  This is expected to be complete by the end of this week.

Forest Lake Drive West of the Rail Road (RR) Tracks is nearing completion.  Remaining areas are the North side from Treasure Hill to the RR lanes, the North and South tie-ins to the RR Right of Way (ROW), the second half of the Treasure Hill intersection tie-in, and several driveway approaches.  They expect to have both lanes open in about 2 weeks.

Forest Lake Drive East side of the RR, concrete has been poured on several sections of the West bound lane.  The intersection with Farmers Lane may take several weeks to complete.

April 23, 2018

Contractors have made great progress this spring to make up for the wet winter. Lakeridge and Ridge Row are complete. Crews are pouring East bound sections of Forest Lake, while also performing the finishing touches of Treasure Hill and Wood Bridge. Treasure Hill and Wood Bridge is expected to be complete in the next couple of weeks.

Work has been slow due to the rainy weather, but the crews have managed to work quickly when weather was clear. The expected work to take place in the next month is to cut and replace sections of Forest Lake Drive Eastbound lane and Treasure Hill Rd Northbound lane.

Crews are still working on Southbound Lakeridge and a small section of Woodbridge. Due to all the rain, progress has slowed. The subgrade is very wet and needs to dry out before we can finish subgrade improvements and pour concrete. The plan is to finish both lanes of Lakeridge first then move to the other sides streets (Treasure Hill, Woodbridge, Ridge Row, and Ridgecrest).

August 3, 2017-

We have opened the new Southbound section of Lakeridge Drive, North of Forest Lake Drive, to traffic. We would still like to caution everyone to watch for oncoming traffic in this area, since traffic will still be two-way on this new section at this time.

The concrete crusher is on site today busting up the old concrete to make way for reconstruction. The crusher will complete much of the crushing today on Treasure Hill, Wood Bridge and Ridgecrest (rain or shine). Did you realize the concrete crusher does not have a driver? The operator uses a remote control to guide the piece of machinery.

Check out the crusher in action!

May 1, 2017-

Construction crews will begin removing existing concrete today to prepare for improvements. Work will begin on Lakeridge, and the side streets in that area, and move from north to south. Forest Lake will be the last street where concrete will be crushed and removed.

April 27, 2017-

This project will consist of reconstructing all the concrete streets, over 1.5 miles, in the Forest Lake Estates area. Included in this project will be reconstructing the base underneath the pavement with lime stabilization, and in some cases, may include excavating out the unsuitable material and replacing it with select fill. The portion of Forest Lake Drive will be 8” of reinforced concrete, and all other streets will be 6.5” reinforced concrete.

Estimated construction start date is May 1, 2017, and estimated completion date is August 31, 2018. Construction will be split in 3 phases.

  • Phase 1 will be the construction of Lakeridge Drive, Treasure Hill Road, Wood Bridge Drive, and Ridgecrest Place
  • Phase 2 will be the construction of Forest Lake Drive from Lakeridge Drive to the RR Tracks
  • Phase 3 will be the construction of Forest Lake Drive from the RR Tracks to Highway 71

Residents will have access to their properties throughout construction, but portions of the roadways will be closed as well. Please refer to all road construction and detour signage.
